Choose Freedom!

July 4th is the day that most Americans celebrate their independence from British rule in the year 1776. Unfortunately, persons of African descent were still enslaved by a system that didn't declare their independence until 1863. Even though this proclamation was issued, it gave limited freedom from slavery to some and others were still in bondage.
The bible declares, "He who the Son sets free is free indeed." John 8:36 The freedom from slavery that Messiah promises, is promised to all and guaranteed to all, not by a war of independence, but by a committed life of dependence on the One and only One who can set the captives free. Some of you have not read your history well and are not familiar with facts as they are declared in the words of God.
Some of you are still living like slaves, with a life that is dominated by sin, a mind and body that is still controlled by the flesh!!! We look at life through the eyes of reason and say that if a man can control his instincts, and educate himself, he can produce a life that will slowly evolve into a life of God. However, sin has made the foundation of our thinking unpredictable, uncontrollable, and irrational.
We must recognize that sin is a fact of life, not just a shortcoming. It is the only explanation why Jesus Christ came to earth, and it is the explanation of the grief and sorrow of life. Do you know the Truth? If you do, it will set you free, if you don't it can't. "And you shall know the TRUTH (Yeshua) and the TRUTH (Yeshua) will set you free." John 8:32
Shalom!
