What Do You Want?
Are you seeking great things for yourself, instead of seeking to be a great man of God? If you have only come as far as asking God for things, you have never come to the point of understanding the least bit about what surrender means. Sometimes, if we are not careful, we run the risk of becoming Christians on our own terms. Ask yourselves, what it is you want from God and why do you want it. All too often we get caught up in wanting to exhibit things for others to see, not showing off property and possessions, but our blessings. But then, when God begins to use us in His work, we begin to take on a pitiful look and talk only of our trials. God will give us touches of inspiration when He sees that we are not in danger of being led away by them. We must never consider our moments of inspiration as the standard way of life – Christ is our standard. Our reach must exceed our grasp. Paul said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on….(Philippians 3:12). If we have the inspiration of the vision of God, we have more than we can experience.
